Whilst subsidence and heave claims are a speciality requiring the specific knowledge of a structural engineer, we have undertaken countless fire, flood, storm and vehicle impact claims. Our project management skills, managing client expectations, specifying repairs, obtaining competitive tenders and administering the contract through to completion have proved invaluable to numerous clients.
Typical Solutions
In the majority of cases, mitigation is successfully argued and undertaken and repair of the fabric of the building can be undertaken without the need for underpinning or other works below ground.
Engineeered Solutions
In some instances, however, it has been necessary to provide mass concrete underpins to the structure (or at least to areas directly affected). In others, vegetation may not be able to be removed and their influence would extend far below the depth of a conventional mass concrete underpin. In these instances, a piled raft is provided. Whether this requires a rebuild of the superstructure or not is assessed on a case by case basis, generally based on the adequacy of the existing building fabric and the impact of temporary works
Value provided
With over 25 years and 1000s of claims successfully completed, R F Gill and Associates will manage your claim from cradle to grave. We have worked with virtually all individual loss adjusters dealing with property claims and have good relationships with insurers and loss adjusters allowing a speedy and personal resolution.
A Focus Long After The Claim
Our instructions are invariably completed with a Concluding Report. This is more detailed than, and in lieu of, a Certificate of Structural Adequacy. We know that a Concluding Report is sufficient to satisfy potential purchasers, mortgage providers and insurers that the matters arising out of the recent claim at the property have been appropriately dealt with.
